Patches of Memory In science, everything starts from an atom. Then, when several atoms merge together, it becomes a molecule. Then, when molecules merge as well, they eventually form an organelle. A group of organelle will then become a cell. A cell will become a tissue, then organ, until they form an organism. I used this sequence since this is where I can relate the art of Sir Ange Arthur-Koua which he introduced during the special session of our ARTS 1 class. Sir Ange would use different fabrics, i.e. clothes, used by different people to create art by combining several patches of fabric from those clothes to eventually form an artwork. I was amazed by his works since each image that was formed from the different patches of clothes are really vivid and clear. His inspiration in creating this type of art is amazing as well since he said that each piece of clothing holds the memories of the people who worn the said clothes.
